UNCW Students, Faculty and Staff Among YWCA Lower Cape Fear Women of Achievement Nominees

The YWCA Lower Cape Fear Women of Achievement Awards recognize the outstanding contributions and achievements of women and young leaders active in Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover and Pender counties.
Women affiliated with UNCW who were nominated:
- Donyell Roseboro, professor in the Department of Instructional Technology, Foundations, and Secondary Education (Watson College of Education)
- Sheri Shaw, assistant dean for student success (College of Health and Human Services)
- Susan Sinclair, clinical research professor in the School of Nursing (College of Health and Human Services)
- Michaela Howells, assistant professor of biological anthropology (College of Arts and Sciences)
- Nancy King, associate professor of music (College of Arts and Sciences)
- Kathleen Holland, lecturer in environmental sciences (College of Arts and Sciences)
- Karen Barefoot, head coach (UNCW Women’s Basketball)
- Students Jessica Aguilar (social work major) and Samantha Fisher (marine biology and environmental science major)
This year's class of 71 Women of Achievement nominees were recognized by their mentors, peers and colleagues for demonstrated excellence and commitment to their careers, schools and communities. Winners will be announced Tuesday, May 7 at the Wilmington Convention Center.
