Make Your University Contribution on Giving Tuesday: November 27

Monday, November 26, 2018

Celebrated each year on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, #GivingTuesday is a movement that encourages generosity across the globe. Kicking off the charitable, holiday season, this year’s November 27 Giving Tuesday campaign is a great opportunity to contribute to the university in meaningful way.

“One day giving ‘blitzes’ like Giving Tuesday provide a rallying point for Seahawks who want to philanthropically support the university, further showcasing that when our campus community comes together they can make a big difference,” said Vice Chancellor for University Advancement Eddie Stuart. “Along those lines, the Division for University Advancement is hoping to amplify the power of philanthropy by encouraging employees, alumni, parents and friends to enroll in monthly giving on Giving Tuesday.”
Monthly giving is a convenient, efficient and effective way to support UNCW. It provides a steady source of reliable funding, divided into manageable monthly increments. With monthly giving, donors can also select to support areas on campus that mean the most to them, putting their donations toward the programs or priorities of their choosing.

“I spent 10 years at UNCW as a student and employee. One day it really hit me that I should give back to the place that gave me so much – a strong education, great friends and opportunities,” said alumna Ebony Freeland Bryant '01. “I wasn't ready for a big one-time gift, so I decided on monthly contributions. I give every month to areas that meant a lot to me so that other students can benefit from what I received!”

Every dollar donated helps. Contributions of as little as $10 a month can help a student purchase much-needed lab supplies, whereas $50 a month can help turn a dream to study abroad into a reality. To make a difference and get involved this Giving Tuesday, visit:
