Wednesday, June 06, 2018

UNCW psychology professor Mark Galizio has been elected editor-in-chief of the Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior.

JEAB, a peer-reviewed academic journal of psychology, was founded in 1958 by the Society for the Experimental Analysis of Behavior and is still considered the pre-eminent outlet for basic research in the field of behavior analysis.

“I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with the wonderful group of scientists on the editorial board and those who are regular contributors to the journal,” said Galizio. “I am also excited about working with the new generation of young researchers who will be shaping the future of behavior analysis.”

Galizio has served as associate editor for four years and a member of the JEAB editorial board for six separate terms beginning in 1984. The editor-in-chief position is elected by the Society for the Experimental Analysis of Behavior Board of Directors, a group of distinguished scientists. His four-year term begins September 2019.

“Dr. Galizio epitomizes what we expect from faculty at UNCW -- excelling in teaching, research and service,” said Aswani Volety, dean of UNCW College of Arts and Sciences. “His appointment as the editor-in-chief is a validation of the quality of research and teaching that Dr. Galizio engages in.”

Excellence in teaching, research and service are key priorities of UNCW’s Strategic Plan.
