National Weather Service forecasts indicate an increased risk of rip currents along the beaches near UNCW’s main campus. Please visit the NWS rip current risk site before heading out to the coast.

While weather authorities believe it is still too soon to project the potential impact of Hurricane Irma with any level of confidence, this is a good time to review campus emergency procedures and your personal preparation plan.

We will convey updates, via campus email and the UNCW homepage, as soon as there is more certainty about Irma's path and potential impact.
