Eyes on the Seahawks: Seven Make Annual “Women to Watch” List

Seven UNCW employees are finalists for WILMA Magazine’s annual “Women to Watch” awards that honor achievements in the areas of business, health care, nonprofit, public service, arts and education. Finalists will be recognized and the winner for each category announced at a reception on Oct. 13.

“While it is not surprising that the talents and dedication of these women have garnered them this recognition, it is nonetheless an honor for UNCW to have seven finalists this year. Please join me in congratulating them,” said Provost Marilyn Sheerer.  

The UNCW nominees and their respective categories are listed below:

Business:
Jennifer McCall, assistant professor, College of Health and Human Services
 

Education:
Melinda J. Anderson, associate dean of undergraduate studies and director of University College
Donna DeGennaro, assistant professor, Watson College of Education (for her work as founder and director of “Unlocking Silent Histories”)
Emily Louise Smith, director of The Publishing Laboratory and founder of Lookout Books

Nonprofit/Volunteer:

Diane Durance, director of the UNCW Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Janna Siegel Robertson, professor, Watson College of Education

Public Service:
Siobhan Norris, military student support specialist
