UNCW Signs Agreement with Brunswick Community College

Monday, October 30, 2017

A new partnership between UNCW and Brunswick Community College recently became official when Chancellor Sartarelli signed an agreement between the two schools. Students can now directly transfer credits earned from courses at BCC and apply them toward completion of a B.S. in exercise science in UNCW’s College of Health and Human Services.

The direct transfer opportunity will provide a seamless transition for students earning an associate of applied science in health and fitness science, provided a grade of “C” or higher is obtained. An exercise science degree provides graduates with an essential foundation for careers as allied health professionals by imparting a unique knowledge base in health, wellness and fitness.

The agreement with BCC is similar to the partnership between UNCW’s School of Nursing and Sampson Community College, which provides students with a four-year nursing option that dually enrolls students in both schools. UNCW’s partnership with Cape Fear Community College allows graduates of CFCC’s AAS in Early Childhood Education to transfer into UNCW’s Education of Young Children Program. Fostering collaborative campus partnerships is a key initiative of UNCW’s Strategic Plan
