Wealth Management: UNCW to Offer Envestnet Institute Certification Program
Monday, September 26, 2016
UNCW is one of 17 universities nationwide that will offer the Envestnet Institute on Campus certification program in the area of wealth management. The online certification program will offer students relevant, broad-based training in investment management.
“The certification program will benefit students who are considering a career in wealth management and put them in a strong position as they seek jobs in this highly competitive industry,” said Nivine Richie, chair of the CSB Economics and Finance Department. “It is also an opportunity for students interested in any financial career to get a taste of an industry that is a little specialized.”
Jim Seuufert, an EIOC board member and former chief executive officer of Pershing Managed Account Solutions, spoke about the program Sept. 22 with economics and finance student clubs and other interested students in the Cameron School of Business.
EIOC will make 25 slots available to UNCW free of charge each semester. Students will have a specified amount of time to complete the certification program, which CSB expects will be particularly advantageous for upper-level undergraduates majoring in economics and finance. Students may apply online.
EIOC has a goal of training 5,000 students across the United States over the next five years. The program was made possible through a collaboration between Envestnet, Money Management Institute and Wheelhouse Analytics.
