Annual Economic Outlook Panel to Explore “The Business of Healthcare”

Friday, September 16, 2016

“The Business of Healthcare” is the focus of this year’s annual Economic Outlook Conference at UNCW on Oct. 6.

Organized by The H. David and Diane Swain Center in the Cameron School of Business and sponsored by the Bank of America, the event will feature a panel discussion with Jack Barto, CEO and President of New Hanover Regional Medical Center; Stephan Kutzer, CEO of Alcami; and Art Pappas, chairman and founding CEO of CoLucid Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

“For 13 years this conference has served as our region’s premier forum for economic activity and forecasts,” said Laura Lunsford, the newly appointed Swain Center director. “The topic of the business of health care was chosen by the Swain Center Advisory Board as one that was of compelling interest to business leaders both at the local and national levels.”

The regional and national forecasts will be delivered by Adam Jones, associate professor of economics and finance, and Thomas D. Simpson, executive in residence of economics and finance, respectively.

A continental breakfast will be served beginning at 7:30 a.m. in UNCW’s Burney Center. The panel discussion and economic forecast presentations will follow, with the program concluding by 9:45 a.m. Tickets are $35 per person or $240 for a table of eight.

Registration is open to all. Participants can also pay at the door.
