Wednesday, January 27, 2016
Students and community members are invited to join the festivities celebrating UNCW’s 23rd Annual Intercultural Week (iWeek). From Jan. 30 to Feb. 5, iWeek guests can attend lectures, films and exhibits that celebrate the rich diversity of cultures that make up UNCW and the Wilmington community.
The popular Intercultural Festival starts the celebration during Homecoming weekend on Jan. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Burney Center. The event is sponsored by the Campus Activities & Involvement Center and the Office of International Programs.
Additional iWeek activities include lectures, international film showings and opportunities for students to learn about study abroad programs. Soccer enthusiasts can witness an exhibition match between the UNCW women’s soccer team and the Puerto Rican National Team at 7 p.m., Feb. 3, in the UNCW Soccer Stadium. On Feb. 4, International Programs will host a Global Café with Super Bowl-themed snacks from 5 to 6 p.m. in Friday Annex. Additionally, Wagoner Dining Hall’s Chef’s Table will serve internationally themed food all week.
All events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted. Complimentary parking will be available at Lots M and E, in addition to the visitor’s lot and metered parking. Visit the iWeek website for a complete list of events, times and other information.
