UNCW’s Cameron School of Business Inspires Student Startups with Entrepreneurship Week, Nov. 2-6
Wednesday, November 04, 2015
With a series of guest speakers, roundtables and academic competitions, UNCW’s Entrepreneurship Week, to be held Nov. 2-6, will inspire students to explore startup possibilities “from ideas to launch.”
The program, sponsored by the Cameron School of Business and the Beck Foundation, includes a social entrepreneurship discussion, advice for artists/entrepreneurs, information sessions with leading regional entrepreneurs and an “innovation concept” pitch competition. Most of Entrepreneurship Week’s activities are open to students only, but the keynote address by Chris Heivly, co-founder of Mapquest and co-manager of The Startup Factory, is free and open to the public with registration.
The keynote presentation, scheduled at 4 p.m. Nov. 5 in Lumina Theater, is co-sponsored by the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Heivly will discuss leading topics from his book Build The Fort, published in September 2015.
