In response to flooded roadways on campus and in surrounding communities, UNCW is closed as of 7 p.m. tonight (10/4) and all day Monday (10/5). All classes and events on the main campus and the Onslow Extension site have been canceled for Monday. Athletics events may remain in place; check uncwsports.com for available updates.

Employees should contact their managers with any questions or concerns.
UPDATE: Wagoner Dining Hall is closing at 8 p.m. tonight; currently, normal operating hours are scheduled for Monday, but please check the website before setting out to be sure hours of operation haven’t changed. The Fisher Student Center will be open 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday. Sharky's will be open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. with free games for all. The Student Recreation Center, also closing at 7 p.m. tonight, plans to reopen Monday on a limited schedule. Please visit UNCW.edu for scheduling updates for FSC and the SRC. Randall Library is closing at 7 p.m. tonight and will be closed on Monday. Wave Transit will be operating its normal schedules, but Seahawk Shuttle buses operating around the UNCW campus and to and from neighboring apartment complexes will not be operating. Please check Wave Transit website for further information.
Hazardous weather conditions are expected and a flash flood watch is in effect for the main campus and Onslow site until 8 p.m. Monday. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to stay informed about weather conditions by monitoring the National Weather Service or local media coverage.
Please remember the following safety recommendations:
- Call 911 in the event of an emergency.
- Exercise caution when driving; do not drive through flooded areas.
- Pay attention to detours and debris.
- Do not enter the ocean; surf conditions are extremely dangerous.
Although campus events and activities are canceled, patrons should check individual event websites for rescheduling information and other updates.
As the campus continues to respond to adverse weather conditions, we request that students, parents and family members refrain from calling UNCW offices so university employees can focus time and resources on obtaining and disseminating the latest information.
