Creative Writing's Lee a Story Prize Finalist

UNCW Creative Writing Professor Rebecca Lee's Bobcat and Other Stories has been chosen as a finalist for The Story Prize. In its 10th year, The Story Prize honors an author for their exceptional collection of short stories and is the richest top prize of any annual U.S. book award for fiction. Lee's Bobcat was selected from a pool of 96 books published in 2013, and she is one of three finalists for this prestigious award.

Bobcat, an Oprah Book of the Week and an Best Book of the Month, explores the interplay of intellect and emotion woven throughout seven lyrical, witty stories. Lee is the author of the novel The City Is a Rising Tide. Additionally, she has been featured on NPR and published in Atlantic Monthly and Zoetrope.
