Oversees and serves as a resource on research integrity programs related to research involving human and animal subjects, conflicts of interest, export controls, responsible conduct of research, and data privacy. Duties include conducting initial reviews on all human subject research application submissions, corresponding with researchers for clarifications on research applications, verifying that required training is in place, responding to questions regarding submission procedures and regulatory requirements, providing guidance and suggestions on consent forms and recruitment materials to meet ethical standards, organizing full board meetings, preparing meeting materials, creating reports, and is responsible for website management.

Coordinates the daily activities of certain compliance programs handled by the research integrity unit, specifically tracking conflict of interest reporting and contacting the campus community when they travel outside the United States to notify them of export control implications.

Conducts compliance reviews of new grant proposals, assists investigators in meeting compliance requirements, assists with reviewing human subject research submissions and committee activities, organizes and conducts training for the Responsible Conduct of Research training program, and develops progress, activity, and effectiveness reports for all RIO programs.
