Master of Public Administration


Master of Public Administration students have the opportunity to acquire internships at a wide variety of organizations and institutions. Students recieve hands-on training during their internships, which coincides with the MPA curriculum.

MPA Internship/Practicum Waiver

If you have had a minimum of five (5) years of significant management or policy related professional experience, you may qualify for an internship or practicum waiver. Please fill out the Internship Waiver, have your faculty advisor sign it, and forward it to the Internship Coordinator or the MPA Program Coordinator along with a current resume.

Presidential Management Fellows Program

The United States Office of Personnel Management Fellows Program has been a vital source of entry into the Federal service for outstanding graduate students who have demonstrated a commitment to a career in the analysis and management of public policies and programs. Charlotte Management Internship Program

The Charlotte Management Internship program began in 1996 to introduce recent MPA graduates in North Carolina to the daily operations of a local government management team in a large urban environment. The management intern is a highly visible position involving direct contact with the City's senior management staff and public officials. The intern provides valuable assistance with organization, developing, and evaluating City programs and services. For more information on this program please contact:

Public Management Institute New York State
