Accessing Course Content Online

Canvas

  • Canvas is the Learning Management System used for all courses at the university. In addition to common uses such as file sharing and assignment submission, online classes may also use Canvas to deliver course content, like instructional videos, readings, and external media, and to conduct course activities, such as discussions and peer reviews. You should become familiar with your Canvas course site and know where to find course content, files, and assignments. You can find many helpful how-to guides in the Canvas Student Guide

Echo 360

  • Echo 360 is the tool used at the university for lecture capture and streaming. If your instructor records lectures for your course, you will likely find the links to recorded videos in your Canvas course site. Students can also use Echo 360 to record presentations.  Please see the tutorials listed in the Canvas Keep Learning course for details on how to record and submit using Echo 360.

Zoom

  • Some courses require students to participate in online class meetings using Zoom. You may need a webcam and microphone to participate in online meetings. For the best experience, find a quiet location with reliable internet connection and privacy to participate in online meetings.

Barnes & Noble eTextbook Access

To help maintain consistency and ensure students are equipped to learn wherever they are, BNED has joined VitalSource and leading publishers in providing free access to eTextbooks through the remainder of the Spring term. Barnes and Noble has partnered with VitalSource since 2016 to supply millions of students with eTextbooks and digital learning materials. Students at BNED campuses that have been closed down due to COVID-19 will now be able to access these eTextbooks free of cost to help them successfully complete their academic year.
