Institutional Effectiveness (IE)

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness, a sub-unit within the OIRP,  supports the university’s commitment to educational and institutional excellence by (1) facilitating an integrated, systematic, and ongoing outcomes assessment process, (2) monitoring accreditation compliance and quality assurance initiatives, and (3) providing support for data collection efforts, such as student ratings of instruction and faculty activity reporting.

Regional and Specialized Accreditation

The University of North Carolina Wilmington is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 or call 404-679-4500 for questions about the accreditation status of UNC Wilmington.  Our institution was successfully reaffirmed in 2013. UNCW will seek its next SACSCOC reaffirmation in 2023.
