HST 498 Internship for History credit

General information

 Eligibility: Completed 60 credit hoursminimum 2.0 overall GPA; recommendation of History advisor 

 Basic requirements for 3 credit hour internship:

Over the course of the semester, the student must be on-site for a total of 127 hours.  Assuming the internship begins early in the semester, the commitment would be 9-10 hours per week at the site.  Some internships require a minimum of 10 hours per week.

The internship also carries the following responsibilities:  meeting regularly with the History Department internship coordinator; maintaining a weekly journal and log of hours; completing a research paper related to the internship; and, designing a poster illustrating the internship experience.

Getting started: 

Plan ahead so you can register for your internship before the semester begins. Meet with Prof. Bredbenner before the end of fall semester if you want to begin your internship in the spring.
