Jennifer O'Keefe from Keep America Beautiful - New Hanover County and Bonnie board the Atlantic Explorer RV tonight in Bermuda and will commence their cruise at high tide tomorrow morning into the North Atlantic Gyre. We welcome friends, family and those interested in following us out to sea as we trawl the ocean for pelagic plastics. Bonnie was one of the recipients of the 2010 M.A.D. (Making a Difference) to North Carolina awards. The M.A.D. contest is designed to honor and acknowledge the important role graduate students have played on our campus.
