CAB Exhibit: "Herb Jackson: Veronica’s Veils"

Thursday, March 01

Additional Information

The Department of Art and Art History is hosting the exhibit “Herb Jackson: Veronica’s Veils” March 1-28 in the Cultural Arts Building Gallery. An opening reception will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 1 in the gallery. One of North Carolina’s most honored artists, Jackson has worked on the series of paintings, “Veronica’s Veils,” for nearly 40 years. The large-scale works are built on layers of acrylic paint mixed with fine pumice, which are applied and scraped off. The works represent the mystical quality of art, in which the process holds as much significance as the final product.

Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 12 to 4 p.m. for the run of the exhibit. The artist will be in attendance at the opening reception.
