WCE Alumni & Partnership Teachers Receive Awards

Craig Lawson was named Pender County's Teacher of the Year. Lawson is an eighth grade Language Arts teacher at Cape Fear Middle School and uses technology to engage his students.

Sabrina Hill-Black was named New Hanover County and the district's middle school teacher of the year. Hill-Black is the Williston Middle School coordinator for the Advancement Via Individual Determinition (AVID) program.

Social studies graduate, Jodi Sollosi, teacher at Laney High School, was named New Hanover County high school teacher of the year. She is also a partnership teacher and mentored her first social studies intern this spring.

2011 M.A.T. graduate Donald Rush, has been selected as the Beginning Teacher of the Year at J.W. McLauchlin Elementary School of Raeford. Rush has also received awards such as Faculty Member of the Month.

Partnership principal Maria Greene, Principal at College Park, was named Principal of the Year!
