CHHS will Cohost Dark Side of the Full Moon Training About Pregnancy, Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorders

CHHS will cohost Dark Side of the Full Moon, a documentary about pregnancy, postpartum mood and anxiety disorders on Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. in McNeill Hall, Room 1038 along with the New Hanover County Health Department, Motherhood Matters and the Public Health Training Center.

The documentary will explore the complicity within the medical community to effectively screen, refer and treat the 1.3 million mothers affected by these conditions each year. The video “follow(s) two moms on a life-changing journey, revealing the inconsistencies of care when maternity and new motherhood meet madness; exposing the complicated web where no one is asking, no one is listening and help is not available.”

Public health workforce, medical professionals, students and community members are invited to the event.

Megan Schlude, a clinical psychologist with Motherhood Matters, will be facilitating the discussion after the screening.
