CHHS Student Athletes Volunteer at Rise Against Hunger Food Packaging Event

On Sept. 9, CHHS student athletes on the UNCW Women’s Beach Volleyball team volunteered at the Rise Against Hunger food packaging event.

Formally called Stop Hunger Now, Rise Against Hunger is an international nonprofit that partners with volunteers to package and organize food.

CHHS exercise science major Sarah Kelly contacted her teammates and enlisted their support after SHAHS Lecturer Tamlyn Shields announced the event to her class. Among those teammates were public health major Hayley Caputo and nursing major Anna Grauel.

The event took place at Winter Park Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, N.C.

Rise Against Hunger’s mission is to end hunger in our lifetime.
