CHHS Student Success Center Hosts Mindful Monday Yoga Session

On Monday, Sept. 25, the CHHS Student Success Center hosted its first Mindful Monday Yoga session in McNeill Hall.

The event was a beginner yoga session intended to allow CHHS faculty and staff a chance to decompress together and take an intentional moment of rest.

Student Success Advisor, Rachael McLoud led the 60-minute session. Rachael received her teacher certification from the Kunga Yoga School at Wilmington Yoga Center and is registered with Yoga Alliance, the largest international nonprofit association in the yoga community.

“Yoga is important because it allows us to tune into our breath, our bodies and our minds and simultaneously begin to join these elements together to create a sense of unity,” CHHS Student Success Advisor, Rachael McLoud said. “This allows us space to simply be present for an hour, a practice that is so needed in our busy work and personal lives, where we are often driven and distracted by to-do lists, schedules and tasks. We enjoyed taking time to come together in community to see friends and colleagues in a completely different context than we’re used to during work hours.”

A total of 14 people attended the session.
