SHAHS Faculty Show Newly Hired Assistant Professor Safe Biking Routes Around Wilmington

On August 26, Interim Director of SHAHS Steve Elliott and Public Health Program Coordinator Randy Cottrell took a bike ride with newly hired Assistant Professor Sabrina Cherry (SHAHS) to show her some safe local biking routes around Wilmington.

Sabrina started the bike journey on Independence Road (at the corner of Independence and Shipyard) and met up with Steve and Randy a little farther down. The three of them traveled toward Carolina Beach, intersecting with River Road along the way, and ended up at Show’s Cut Bridge, where they enjoyed the views.

“Bike riding is a great form of physical activity that can be enjoyed solo or in small and large groups,” Steve said. “As a new resident to Wilmington, Sabrina has found bike riding as a great way to see many of the city's natural attractions, including the beautiful parks.”

Steve, Randall and Sabrina logged a total of 30 miles on their trip.
