Admission Requirements: MSN Family Nurse Practitioner

 Applicants seeking admission are required to submit the following to the Graduate School:

  1. An application for graduate admission.
  2. Official transcripts from all college work (undergraduate and graduate).
  3. Current unrestricted North Carolina registered nurse license or registered nurse license from one of the affiliated Compact states. An explanation must be provided of any limitations that have ever been placed on your RN license.
  4. One year of professional experience as a registered nurse.
  5. Baccalaureate degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution from a nationally accredited program with an overall GPA of 3.0 or better.
  6. Three recommendations from a current or former nurse faculty member or employer, required.
  7. Resume with work history and prerequisite course information.
  8. Must have successfully completed academic credits in undergraduate community health, health and physical assessment, nursing research, and statistics prior to admission. The resume must include the course name, credit hours, and semester with year, of prerequisite courses.
  9. Application and supplemental documents must be submitted by the published deadline.

Note:
Applicants must have access to a computer capable of supporting electronic mail, a web browser, a word processing program and multi-media presentations. In addition, applicants must demonstrate ability to use these computer applications.

Six semester hours of graduate level transferred credit may be accepted upon approval.
