Stephanie D. Smith, PhD, RN, Assistant Professor

Stephanie SmithDr. Stephanie Smith served for 20 years as a Nurse Corps Officer in the U.S. Air Force, gaining significant leadership experience in a variety of organizational and interorganizational settings as well as clinical nursing experience in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. She has earned several degrees including a BS in Social Work from Pembroke State University, a BSN from Western Carolina State University, a Master’s Degree in Military Operational Art and Science from Air Command and Staff College, and an MS and PhD in Public Administration and Policy from Auburn University. She has also earned two Post-Baccalaureate Certificates in Nonprofit Management and Leadership and Health Care Administration and Policy from Auburn University. Smith has served as a principal investigator (PI) and Co-PI on numerous research grants, which most recently included a funded $200,000 proposal through Emory University.
