Cynthia K. Schweizer: MSN-NE, RN, Lecturer

Cynthia SchweizerA registered nurse for more than 30 years, Schweizer received her ADN degree from Wayne County Community College in Michigan. During her career in Michigan, she had the opportunity to work in large teaching hospitals and as a home health nurse. After moving to Wisconsin, she became a coordinator for a hospice and home health agency. Other professional opportunities in Wisconsin included becoming an infection control nurse and in quality management. Schweizer obtained her BSN from the University of St. Francis.

After moving to Charlotte, Schweizer worked for Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte as the admissions hospital liaison for all Charlotte-area hospitals. She also worked for North East Medical Center in Concord in the Performance Improvement Department, where she provided teaching to the nursing staff frequently. She received her MSN-NE in 2011 from UNCW. She began teaching at the community college level providing didactic and clinical instruction to first year ADN students. In 2016, Schweizer began at UNCW where her teach responsibilities include RN-BSN courses as well as courses in the Prelicensure program.
