Michele Mendes: PhD, RN, CPN, Assistant Professor

Michele MendesDr. Michele Mendes joined the faculty as an assistant professor in 2018. Prior to coming to UNC Wilmington, she held various academic appointments, teaching students in prelicensure, masters degree entry and doctoral programs in nursing.

She graduated from Simmons University in Boston with a BA in nursing and went on to specialize in the care of children and families at Boston Children’s Hospital and other pediatric health settings. She went on to earn her MS in Nursing at Boston University and her PhD at the University of Rhode Island.

Mendes’ program of research focuses on the needs of parents caring for children with special health care needs.
