Linda Haddad, Professor & Associate Director for Graduate Programs

Dr. Linda Haddad earned a PhD in Nursing from the University of Maryland, a Master of Nursing Science from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jordan University. Most recently, Haddad served as associate director for graduate programs at the UNC Wilmington School of Nursing and as an associate dean for academic affairs at the University of Florida College of Nursing.

A native of Jordan, Haddad has extensive experience with international health initiatives by consulting and working on projects to help train medical professionals and improve community health in the Middle East. She also served as dean over the faculty of nursing at the Jordan University of Science and Technology. Haddad's research focuses on tobacco cessation, and her background is in community and public health nursing. She has made notable and unique scholarly contributions to nursing and public health knowledge about tobacco control which has been applied to Arabic speaking immigrants in the Southern region.

Haddad serves as a member on the Board of Commissioners for the NLN Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and serves on its expert panel on global health. Haddad is a member of the Society on Research for Nicotine and Tobacco, the Southern Nursing Research Society and Sigma Theta Tau International.
