B. Suzy Diggle-Fox: PhD, GNP, ANP, BC, Clinical Assistant Professor

B. Suzy DiggleDr. Suzy Diggle began her nursing career as a nurse’s aide in 1976. She went on to become an LPN in 1978 and later earned her BSN from Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. Diggle received her MSN in 1990 and received certification as an adult nurse practitioner and a geriatric nurse practitioner. In 2014, Diggle received her PhD in Nurse Education from Capella University.  She has practiced within various areas, both inpatient and outpatient, and moer recently was the Edmond J. Safra Visiting Nurse Faculty Scholar at the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.

For the past five years she has served as a volunteer nurse practitioner for the Medical Reserve Corps. Diggle was a N.Y. State HIV Scholar for the N.Y. Department of Health for two years. In this role she cared for patients as a primary care provider, performed research and educated her peers and others regarding HIV. In addition, she has had clinical experience in substance abuse, school nursing, med-surg nursing, homeless domiciliary, occupational health and oncology. Diggle's research interests are in the areas of geriatrics, infectious diseases, mental health (anxiety and stress), suicide, Parkinson's disease and substance abuse. She has published articles on geriatric suicide and orientation for nursing students and their significant others prior to beginning nursing school.

In both clinical rotations and the classroom, Diggle has taught med-surg nursing, community health, occupational health, care of the HIV patient, physical assessment and NCLEX preparation.
