Omar Alzaghari: PhD, MSN, RN, Assistant Professor

Omar Alzaghari, PhD, MSN, RN Assistant ProfessorDr. Alzaghari joined the School of Nursing in 2016 as a tenure track assistant professor. Alzaghari graduated in 2001 with a BSN from Alzaytoonah University and an MSN from the University of Jordan.  Earning his Ph.D. in 2016 from UNC Greensboro, his dissertation examined 30-day heart failure re-hospitalization. While Alzaghari hopes to publish more research in this area, he is also interested in the management of chronic conditions and nursing leadership.

Alzaghari brings with him over 14 years of practical nursing experience and has worked in several areas, such as medical-surgical, critical care, emergency department, operating rooms and case management. Additionally, he has taught nursing at various program levels from ADN to graduate nursing education. He says he truly cannot imagine having a career that he could possibly enjoy more than that of a nurse educator.
