UNC Board of Governors Approves Masters of Healthcare Administration Degree Program

On Jan. 24, the UNC Board of Governors approved CHHS’ request to offer the Masters of Healthcare Administration (MHA) degree program.

A market analysis by the Educational Advisory Board identified the MHA as the highest priority new degree program for CHHS. The MHA will meet a significant under-served need in the professional preparation of early- to mid-careerists in healthcare administration.

“The Governors were highly complementary of the proposal,” Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Chris Lantz said. “I would like to publicly thank Eric Richardson, Jaci Webb-Dempsey and Nate Miner for their outstanding work in preparing such a thoughtful and comprehensive proposal.”

Lantz said the program would be delivered 100 percent online through UNCW’s innovative Online, Accelerated Program (OAP).

“This delivery model makes available high quality UNCW degrees to adult learners,” Lantz said.

The program is currently awaiting SACS-COC approval and once approved, CHHS will begin admitting students.
