Ecotone Named Finalist for Community of Literary Magazines and Presses Firecracker Award

MAY 2, 2018

Ecotone, UNCW’s literary magazine, is a finalist for a Community of Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP) Firecracker Award for Independently and Self-Published Literature. Ecotone is one of 10 distinguished literary magazines including Poetry, the New England Review and One Story recognized in the “Magazines–General Excellence” category. The award is presented to books and magazines making a significant contribution to literary culture and to publishers striving to introduce important voices to readers.

Ecotone is among the few finalists whose mastheads include graduate students doing high-level editorial work,” said Anna Lena Phillips Bell, Ecotone editor and professor in the Department of Creative Writing. “UNCW's M.F.A students in creative writing who edit and design for the magazine share in this honor.”

The 2018 CLMP Firecracker Awards will be presented June 7 in New York City.
