UNCW's Ned Irvine Receives SECAC Award for Outstanding Exhibition and Catalogue

Ned Irvine, associate professor of art, is the recipient of the 2017 Southeastern College Art Conference Award for Outstanding Exhibition and Catalogue of Historical Materials. The award recognizes a recent exhibition of historical materials considered exemplary.

Irvine received the award for “Art From Flour: Barrel To Bag,” an exhibition he curated for the Cameron Art Museum displayed from October 2016 through February 2017. The exhibition examined flour packaging and the evolution of its design.

SECAC is a national non-profit organization devoted to education and research in the visual arts.

Irvine is currently designing additional exhibition catalogs for the Cameron Art Museum. Created by Light opened in September 2017 and the North Carolina Arts Council 2017 Fellowship Award Exhibition will open in spring 2018.
