Widely acknowledged as one of America’s cultural treasures and leading Latinx dance organizations, Ballet Hispánico is an intersection between artistic excellence and advocacy. Join us in Kenan auditorium for a performance that champions and amplifies underrepresented voices and provides a place of honor for the omitted, overlooked, and oppressed. This performance goes Above & Beyond.

Join us in Kenan Auditorium for a conversation with Ballet Hispanico’s Artistic Director and CEO, Eduardo Vilaro and UNCW’s Assistant Director of Centro Hispano, Angel Garcia as we delve into the interconnections of the arts, social justice, and Latino cultures.  Audience participation is encouraged as we build a better understanding of dance, race, and culture. Master Class with Ballet Hispánico 
Friday, November 11th from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm 
Location: UNCW Cultural Arts Building 
Ballet Hispánico and UNCW’s Office of the Arts welcome community members for a free masterclass that explores the techniques of traditional, social, and contemporary dance forms that are derived from the multicultural Latinx experiences. This workshop is open to dancers of all ages and experience levels. To register, please inquire with marsicanoc@uncw.edu.  

Latin Social Dance Fiesta with Ballet Hispánico and Wilmington Latin Dance
 
Friday, November 11th from 7:00- 10:00 pm 
Location: Brunches at Randall 
Ballet Hispánico will partner with Wilmington Latin Dance to host dancers of all levels at Brunches Cafe. The evening will begin with an opening performance by UNCW’s Latin Jazz Combo followed by a Latin social dance lesson with the dancers of Ballet Hispánico from 7:00-7:30 PM. The dance floor will then open for participants to dance the night away! UNCW students may attend this event for free. Please contact marsicanoc@uncw.edu by Friday, Nov. 4 to register!
