2nd Year Teal Guide

I am a senior at UNCW.  I transferred from Forsyth Technical Community College after receiving my Associates in Fine Arts.  I am currently working on a Theatre Major with a concentration in Design & Production. With this degree I hope to become a professional stage manager whether it be on a touring show or in a repertory theatre. While in college I spend most of my time working on shows for UNCW Theatre Department.  Other than Stage Management, I help construct and paint sets, build and paint props, and work with lights and sound as well.  Outside of the department, I juggle four jobs both on and off campus.  In my free time, I'm a Teal Guide.  I love meeting new people and discussing all of the exciting experiences UNCW has to offer.  Transferring to UNCW has provided me with more opportunities than I ever thought possible, and I know all of it will lead me to a long and successful career.

Paige Teal Guide 2 Headshot

Hi! My name is Paige. I was born in England and I grew up there for the first decade of my life. In 2009 my family moved to Apex, NC with my father’s career. I am an alumnus of Wake Technical Community College, where I spent a year getting my Associate in Arts degree before graduating and transferring here to UNCW. I am currently a senior, majoring in Business Administration with two concentrations in Management and Leadership and Strategic Marketing. I am also the intern for the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation.

There were many reasons why I chose UNCW, but being close to the beach was a big factor. When I’m not in class or being a Transfer to Teal tour Guide, you can find me hanging in my Eno under the pier relaxing and listening to the ocean. Another reason was the vibrant campus life, there are so many cool ways to be involved in student life.  Not only am I a second year Teal Tour Guide, but I am also the President of HEELing Hounds, as well as a volunteer for Paws4People.

Hey there! My name is Presley and I am a Business major with a concentration in Marketing and Professional Selling.  I am originally from Southern California, but I have been living in North Carolina for most of my life.  This is my second year at UNCW after transferring from a small community college in Mooresville, which is about 4 hours away.  I am an off campus student with off campus employment.  Tour guiding has given me an opportunity to meet many great people and makes me feel more involved with our campus.  When I am not in class, I enjoy spending time with my friends and exploring Wilmington.

Hi, my name is Quay. This is my third year at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and I am finally a senior!  I am from Charlotte, North Carolina.  I spent my first semester of college at Appalachian State University and I classify as a First-Generation College Student.  I transferred to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington from Central Piedmont Community College (located in Charlotte, NC).  I live on campus and work at UNCW's Warehouse and Recycling Center.  Outside of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, I work at American Eagle as a Brand Ambassador.  I spend a lot of my time volunteering or involved in outdoor recreational activities.  My majors are Environmental Science (Conservation) and Political Science.  My minors are Economics and Geospatial Technologies.  After college, I plan to spend my time working to protect and manage natural resources and endangered species.

Hi! My name is Jordyn and I am a first year transfer student from Cape Fear Community College located in Downtown Wilmington, NC.  I was born here in Wilmington, North Carolina and graduated from Eugene Ashley High School in 2017.  Currently, I am the Junior Class Senator of UNCW, a member of the UNCW Surf Team, on the Varsity UNCW club softball team, Vice Chair of the Diversity & Inclusion committee, a part of the Climate Change committee with the Chancellor of UNCW, also a part of the Campus Services committee at UNCW, and lastly, a Transfer to Teal Tour Guide!  I really enjoy going to the beach to kayak and surf.  I also love to longboard around campus!  I enjoy playing sports and hanging out with my friends!  I am majoring in Psychology!  I am also an off campus student living within the one mile radius of campus so I have to either bike or skate to my classes.  UNCW is a wonderful community of positive individuals striving towards success!  There is no place that I would rather be.

Hi, my name is Carly.  I am a junior English major with a concentration in Literary Studies and a minor in Women's and Gender Studies.  I am from Winston-Salem, NC, and I previously attended UNC Asheville and Forsyth Technical Community College.  Outside of school, I enjoy being a Teal Guide and club member for the UNCW's Chapter of NC College Democrats.  I also love reading on the beach and watching shows on Netflix.  I am so happy to call UNCW and this city my home!  Go Seahawks!

Hi ya'll!! My name is Alyssa and I am a junior here at UNCW where I am studying Elementary Education with a concentration in Language Arts!  I am originally from southern Maryland, but have been living in a small town in Virginia called King George for the past 15 years!  I decided to transfer to UNCW after my freshman year at James Madison University in Virginia.  There is not a day that goes by that I am not thankful for this decision.  UNCW has truly become my second home where I have found community and met some of the best people.  I simply couldn't imagine myself anywhere else!  I am currently involved in Delight, the all-girls ministry on campus, where I hold a leadership position.  I also like to participate in intramural soccer games, and have recently joined the club Frisbee team!!  My favorite place on campus is the Rec Center, which is where I spend a lot of my free time, and of course, the Education building.  I decided to also become a Teal Guide because I had such an awesome transfer experience, which I wanted to be able to share with potential new students!! Go Seahawks!! :)

Hi!  I am Alexus and I am a junior here at UNCW and double majoring in Criminology and Sociology with a concentration in Criminology.  I was born and raised in Raleigh, NC which is where I attended and received my Associate's degree at Wake Technical Community College.  My ultimate goal is to be a detective.

I pushed myself to move away from home to give myself independence and experience.  Outside of UNCW, I babysit, spend time with family and friends as much as possible, love watching Grey's Anatomy and Law & Order: SVU, and going to the beach with friends. I look forward to seeing you and hearing about your experiences and to show ou how awesome we are and hope you will enjoy UNCW as much as I do! Let's go Seahawks!!!
