Science Olympiad for regional elementary through high school students, UNCW: Chemistry Lab, Forensic Science Lab, and other activities
UNCW STEM and STEAM Expo Events. Event to raise community awareness about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), or Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) and to highlight campus involvement. Chemistry undergraduate and graduate volunteers host hands-on learning chemistry stations for families in the region.
UNCW College of Arts and Sciences CAS Open House. A family friendly event to highlight the excitement of our chemistry discipline. Volunteers (including professors and graduate and undergraduate students) perform chemistry demos and outdoor experiments/activities, face painting, periodic table handouts, and T-shirt contests.
UNCW Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry T-shirt design. Design contest among all current chemistry graduate students. T-shirts distributed to graduating seniors, faculty and staff, current graduate chemistry graduate students to promote team pride and camaraderie within the department.
Various STEM related activities (demonstrations and hands-on experiments) for local elementary, middle school students, organized groups such as the Boy Scouts, etc. organized and hosted by the Chemistry Club
