The Wilmington Fellows are Honors College students who work with campus administrators and offices to pursue major national postgraduate fellowships, scholarships, attend graduate schools and fulfilling professional careers.
Andrew Bahhouth lived in Lebanon until the age of four before moving to the United States. He plans on majoring in Biology and going to medical school after he graduates from UNCW. He currently serves as the Vice President of the Asian Students Association (ASA), Secretary of the French Club, and an educator in the Seahawk Leadership Advisory Council (SLAC).
Moreover, he is starting a shogi club and enjoys playing in his free time. Overall, he feels very excited to be at UNCW and to have fun making new friends.
Eden Briley grew up in cities all over Wake County, but called Holly Springs, NC home for the longest. Since beginning school at UNCW, she has become involved in undergraduate research through the First Year Research Experience program.
While at UNCW she plans to pursue a double major in Psychology and Criminology with a minor in Forensic Science. She plans on studying abroad at the University of Stirling in Scotland in the fall semester of her junior year.
She is also involved in Phi Alpha Delta, the pre-law student organization on campus, as she hopes to pursue law school after completing her undergraduate degree. Her long-term goal is to complete a Juris Doctorate in either criminal or family law and become a lawyer.
Emily Grimm is from Rocky Mount, NC, a small rural city in eastern North Carolina. Since starting school at UNCW, Emily has found a second home in various campus organizations such as the Seahawk Wildlife Society and the TriBeta Biology Honor Society.
Emily has always had a love and passion for the natural world around us and all of its inhabitants, and plans on pursuing a double major in Environmental Science and Marine Biology, with concentrations in conservation. Emily is very excited at the opportunity of undergraduate research here at UNCW.
She also hopes to one day study abroad in South America or Africa to become exposed to new diverse ecosystems. Her long-term goal is to pursue a masters degree in Environmental Science in preparation for a career in wildlife biology or conservation.
Lucy Kirby grew up in Charlotte, NC but is originally from St. Paul, Minnesota. Since beginning school at UNCW, she has gotten involved in clubs and organizations like ACE and is honors mentor in the Honors College.
Lucy likes to spend time with friends and classmates, exploring Wilmington and surrounding areas like Fort Fisher and Carolina Beach. She is planning on majoring in Psychology and minoring in Neuroscience.
This fellow plans to attend graduate school and getting certified to be either a clinical or behavioral therapist. Lucy plans on getting involved in research labs to study behavioral psychology. She hopes to study abroad through programs within the Honors College. Her long term goal is to become a therapist and someday own her own practice.
Angelina Monroe grew up in Greensboro, NC and is very excited to get to know about Wilmington and the area around UNCW. She is pursuing a major in Chemistry with a certificate in eSports, hoping to pursue a career in food science after graduating.
So far, she's involved in the Seahawk eSports club, the HEELing Hounds Club and maintains a job as a research assistant in a chemistry lab at UNCW.
During the rest of her time at UNCW, Angelina looks forward to advancing her academic career through research and study abroad experiences. She hopes to achieve her long term goal of becoming a food scientist focusing on sustainable foods and flavors.
Kenna Rodgers is from Cary, North Carolina and is currently studying Business Administration. Her love of traveling and learning languages hopes to take her to Barcelona where she will study abroad junior year.
Since arriving on UNCW’s campus in the Spring of 2021, she has been an active member of Greek life and the club tennis team. She enjoys going to the beach, surfing, painting and listening to music.
In the future, Kenna hopes to start her own international real estate company where she can explore her passions for both language and business.
Elizabeth Rowell is from the rural town of Monroe, North Carolina. Elizabeth loves to draw, paint and surf in her free time. While at UNCW, she has joined Creative Arts Club and Surf Club to continue practicing the hobbies that she is so passionate about.
Elizabeth also works as a resident assistant in Sandpiper Hall and maintains a support associate position in the Department of History. Elizabeth plans on majoring in Psychology and minoring in Political Science. She aspires to be a therapist or school counselor, hoping to make an impact on the youth and bring awareness to mental illness.
She wishes to study abroad in either Greece or Australia to expand her worldview and interact with cultures different from her own.
