Policy Details:

1. Purpose.

   States university policy relating to printed materials intended for on-campus mailings only. 

2. Scope.

   Applies to all university departments, activities, and student organizations. 

3. Policy.

   1. General Statement.

      The University of North Carolina at Wilmington shall actively seek to eliminate the use of unrecyclable papers for mailings by university departments, activities and student organizations, when such mailings are intended only for on-campus distribution. 

   2. Printing Services.

      Flyers, brochures, and letters intended for on-campus distribution will be printed on white or gray non-coated papers. Colored inks are acceptable. The words "THIS IS RECYCLABLE" will be printed across the bottom of all informational flyers and brochures intended for on-campus distribution only. 

   3. Containers.

      Large containers designated for recyclable materials will be placed at the end of each row of the student mail boxes in the postal facility. In addition, small boxes will be provided to Faculty and Staff in order to dispose of recyclable materials. 

   4. Physical Plant.

      Recyclable refuse in all containers around campus will be picked up by the Physical Plant on an "as needed" basis. 

   5. Contact Person.
