Campus Programs & Announcements

UNCW's most recognizable tradition, Beach Blast, welcomes new Seahawks to our coastal community with a full day at the beach to celebrate the new academic year right before the first day of classes! UNCW Seahawks head to Wrightsville Beach for a day of fun in the sun. Over 4,000+ students attend each year for this university tradition like no other!

UNCW students will be provided more information about the event including transportation, best practices for health, safety, and wellbeing, and rules and regulations set forth by the Town of Wrightsville Beach to ensure we treat our beach with care and respect. This information will be sent directly to UNCW emails.

Questions about Beach Blast can be directed to Campus Activities & Programs at clprograms@uncw.edu.

Cultural & Union Programs focus on creating socially inclusive opportunities all with the goal of creating meaningful connection. Whether we bring students together for lunchtime socials or showcasing student talent in our facilities, you are welcome to our spaces. Highlight Cultural & Union Programs include Lunch Buddies, Local Limelight, and The UNITY Wheel Project.

Cultural & Union programs are designed specifically for Campus Life facilities including the Fisher University Union, Fisher Student Center, Burney Center, Warwick Center, and Campus Commons.

Homecoming is a university-wide celebration with many events and activities supported by Campus Activities & Programs through the Association for Campus Entertainment (ACE). ACE leads events, marketing, and school spirit efforts to enhance engagement of the current student body with returning UNCW alumni in collaboration with various campus departments and student organizations. ACE is responsible for the coordination of Late Night Breakfast, Battle of the Bands, and the Homecoming Royal Court process. Homecoming 2025 dates will be announced by University Advancement in the late fall semester.

The Leadership Lecture Series provides an exploration of leadership through stories and experiences shared by guest speakers inviting the campus and local community to engage in conversations on contemporary issues that shape and affect us at a local, national, and global level. Ticketing is supported through the UNCW Kenan Auditorium Box Office. Questions about the Leadership Lecture Series can be directed to clprograms@uncw.edu.

The 2024-2025 lecture series line up will be announced in August 2024.
