Color Me Rad 5K on Campus This Saturday – Traffic Delays, Noise Expected

Tuesday, September 02, 2014

Participants in this year's race will begin arriving at 8 a.m. and the run will start promptly at 9 a.m. The last wave of runners is expected to be done between 11 a.m. and noon, and clean-up is scheduled to begin immediately following the race.

The heaviest traffic is expected between 8:30 a.m. - noon. Access to much of the southern part of campus will be extremely limited, which will affect traffic patterns. For the safety of the runners and the motoring public, there will be several road closures and traffic diversions throughout campus.

Last year, UNCW was contacted by a small number of people in the community about noise concerns. While the Color Me Rad team has made a commitment to reduce the noise associated with the event, the university cannot eliminate noise completely with an open event of this size. We appreciate your understanding.
