On Teaching

Although for most of my career I’ve identified primarily as a poet, I actually write and teach all three genres: poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. My current pedagogy emphasizes a broadminded approach to the art, with special attention to diversity, social engagement, ekphrasis, and international literature. I admire and teach both experimental as well as traditional forms.
