Livingston Sheats is the Assistant Director of the Publishing Laboratory and teaches Books & Publishing, Publishing Practicum, and Special Topics in Publishing. Previously he worked at UNC Press in the publisher’s marketing, editorial, and contracts and subsidiary rights departments. While earning his Master of Professional Studies in Publishing from the George Washington University, Livingston worked as an editorial assistant and coordinator for the science research journal The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. From 2007 to 2011, he served as Editorial Projects Manager at the National Academies Press, where he managed production editing. America’s Energy Future: Technology and Transformation, for which he coordinated production, was selected by Choice magazine as one of 2010's Outstanding Academic Titles.
