The Dr. L.W. Upperman Scholarship

This scholarship was created by Dr. Upperman in acknowledgement of his deep concern and desire to give something of substance and meaning to the African-American community. It is awarded annually to an incoming freshman resident of North Carolina to enhance minority presence at UNCW. It is awarded to an incoming freshman with demonstrated interests in African-American heritage. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years. No application is required.
