Anne Berkeley
Anne Berkeley (BA Colorado College; MA New York University; PhD University of Maryland) joined the UNCW faculty in August 2002 and teaches courses in theatre history, literature, and theory. Prior to coming to Wilmington, she taught theatre history, dramaturgy, and performance theory at Utah State University. Dr. Berkeley has published numerous articles for such journals as Theatre Topics, Journal of Aesthetic Education, Research in Drama Education (UK), and Journal of Communication Administration, Journal of Dramatic Theory and Criticism, and is a contributor to Teaching Theatre Today: Pedagogical Views of Theatre in Higher Education (Palgrave, 2004). She is also on the editorial board of Theatre Topics, where she has been an external reviewer since 2005. Her current research lies at the intersection of the history and theory of theatre studies in higher education, performance and critical theories, and community-based theatre.
