American Council on Exercise (ACE)
The ACE Group Fitness Instructor Certification is designed to allow you instruct any form of exercise in a group setting. Passing the certification exam demonstrates you possess the foundation of knowledge and skills necessary to teach a safe and effective group fitness class, no matter what type of modality. You also bring your personal passion and enthusiasm for group exercise to everyone you help in their quest to reach their personal health and fitness goals.
Group fitness instructors are in the perfect position to inspire and motivate others to change their behaviors through classes designed to deliver a spirit of creativity and uniqueness®
Fitness Instructor Training
The F.I.T class is designed to prepare you for the ACE Group Fitness Instructor Certification. It will teach you the fundamentals of anatomy, kinesiology, exercise physiology and instructional techniques including class design, cueing, and injury prevention. The class will start on September 11 from 2:00—4:00 pm and continue for 8 weeks.
Campus Recreation
Group Exercise is a program within the Department of Campus Recreation. We strive to offer safe, effective, and fun fitness classes to all skill levels. If you are interested in becoming a Group Exercise Instructor the F.I.T class is just for YOU! You may also join us for Group Exercise Tryouts on November 13, 2009 at 2pm in the Group Exercise Studio. We will extend interviews to those that excel in the class and the tryout.
