A Major in Criminology for the B.A. degree:

The number of credits to be earned for a B.A. in Criminology is 39 hours. 

Core requirements (18 hours):

CRM 105, 255 (SOC 255), 300 (SOC 300), 301 (SOC 301), 495; SOC 105. In addition, students must complete a minimum of 21 hours from either the Criminology or Criminal Justice concentrations.

Option 1. Criminology (21 hours):

Choose a minimum of 6 hours from primary electives: CRM 310, 315, 375, 420, and 455 (SOC 455).
6 hours from secondary electives: CRM 110, 307, 320, 330, 350, 370, 380, 381, 385, 390, 405, 410, 425, 450, 460, and 490.
9 hours from social science electives: ANT 211; PSY 347; SOC 215, 315, 325, 335, 340, 345, 350, 360, 365, 375, 380, 433, 449, 460.

Option 2. Criminal Justice (21 hours):

Choose a minimum of 6 hours from primary electives: CRM 307, 320, 330, 380, 381, and 460.
6 hours from secondary electives: CRM 110, 307, 320, 330, 350, 370, 380, 381, 385, 390, 405, 410, 425, 450, 460, and 490.
9 hours from social science electives: ANT 211; PSY 346; SOC 215, 315, 325, 334, 340, 345, 350, 360, 365, 375, 380, 433, 449, and 460.

An overall grade point average of "C" 2.00 or better is required among courses used to satisfy the major. In addition, you cannot get more than 1 "D" in any course that counts toward your major.

Oral Communication Competency Requirement

To satisfy the oral communication competency requirement for the B.A. degree in Criminology a student must successfully complete CRM 495 or COM 110.

Computer Competency Requirement

To satisfy the computer competency requirement for the B.A. degree in Criminology a student must successfully complete CRM 301 (SOC 301).

Applied Learning Requirement

To satisfy the applied learning requirement for the B.A. degree in criminal justice a student must successfully complete one of the following: CRM 300 (SOC 300), 301 (SOC 301), 415, 490, CRML 490 or CRM 491.
