Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature when such conduct (i) constitutes an expressed or implied condition to another person's academic pursuits, university employment, or participation in activities sponsored by the university or organizations or groups related to the university or (ii) is engaged in for the purpose of interfering with such pursuits, employment, or participation, or (iii) creates a hostile, intimidating, or offensive environment for such pursuits, employment, or participation.

How Does the University Train Employees About Harassment?
All employees are strongly encouraged to one of attend Human Resources “Harassment Mini-Conferences,” which are offered several times a semester.

CARE: UNCW’s Collaboration for Assault Response & Education provides educational programs and resources for students about sexual harassment.
Where would I bring a Harassment concern?
Students may share their concerns about harassment with professional staff at CARE: UNCW Collaboration for Assault Response & Education, the Office of the Dean of Students, or University Police.
Faculty & Staff should share their concerns about harassment with Human Resources.
Harassment concerns involving students are investigated by the Office of the Dean of Students. Harassment concerns involving faculty and staff are investigated by Human Resources.
