Health Professions Leadership Certificate
Workshop offering dates can be found at the Center for Leadership Education and Service.
Requirements for Completion
Students must complete the UNCW Personal Leadership Certificate prior to completing the Health Professions Leadership Certificate requirements listed below.
After completing the UNCW Personal Leadership Certificate requirements, students must complete 20 hours of shadowing and participate in four of the following seven workshops:
- Appreciative Inquiry
- Communication Skills
- Emotionally Intelligent Leadership in Health Care
- Goals and Visions
- Leadership for Social Change
- Organizations as Systems
- Planning a Community Service Program
Shadowing can be completed in the following areas, with a minimum of 4 hours in any given area:
- Medicine
- Dentistry
- Optometry
- Podiatry
- Chiropractic
- Pharmacy
- Physician Assistant
- Physical Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Veterinary Medicine
- Nursing
After these hours have been completed, the Leadership UNCW Health Professions Leadership Shadowing Submission Form must be filled out and submitted.
