Chief David Donaldson
Chief David Donaldson has served the UNCW community for 19 years. Chief Donaldson began his law enforcement career in 1992 when he was hired by UNCW as a police officer. He advanced through the ranks and was appointed Chief of Police in 2003. He has an associate’s degree in law enforcement technology and a bachelor’s in business administration. He has completed several executive management programs and, like other members of his management team, has been awarded the Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Standards Division, the highest level of law enforcement certification awarded by the State of North Carolina. By modern accounts, Chief Donaldson is the third person in the history of the University to serve as the University’s Chief of Police.
